Credits & tiers

How credits work

• Every new account starts with 5,000 free credits.
• Buy packs under Dashboard → Billing & credits. Credits never expire and there is no plan to cancel.
• Auto top-up (optional) buys a pack when your balance falls below a threshold, so scheduled work never stalls.
• Each call reserves its credits up front and refunds what did not come back. Failed lookups are free.

Tiers

A tier is a level of detail for an item endpoint, at a fixed price per item. Most platforms have one tier, standard, which is the default. Amazon has three, and tier is required there.

Offers cost 1 credit for a listing with one offer (or none) and 3 for one with more. What each tier returns is on the platform pages; GET /v1/platforms lists the same prices.

What you pay for

1. A call reserves unique ids × credits per item, rounded up once per call. If your balance cannot cover it, the call is a 402 INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS and nothing is charged.
2. When the call finishes, partial and unavailable items are refunded. You pay for ok and not_found: both are definitive answers.
3. The final charge is recomputed from what you are billed for and rounded up once, so fractional rates never overcharge.
4. The response says what it cost in credits and the X-Scrapely-Credits header; X-Scrapely-Balance is what is left.

Example: 800 Target items reserve 800 credits. If 10 come back unavailable, 10 are refunded and the call costs 790.
